Relax on the lawn outside the greenhouses, watch the sunset with friends and enjoy live music from the extraordinary trio, The James River Sirens. Our outdoor bar will feature some locally-brewed beer from Starr Hill Brewery, wine, and specialty cocktails thanks to Belle Isle Moonshine of Richmond and mixology by Lynchburg’s Blackwater Bitters Co.

Dinner and Speakers:  7pm

Greenhouse 1 will open at 7:00 so you can take your seat and prepare to feast! We are excited to have Michelle Hamrick Ayers join us as this year’s Chef. She consistently wows crowds and clients with the culinary creations from her company Purple Door Gourmet Kitchen & Catering. Check out her amazing food photos on her Instagram page. During dinner, staff and board members will give you an update on what's been happening during this growing season at Lynchburg Grows.

Michelle's passion for cooking began at a very early age growing up in Upstate New York. She fine tuned her skills in Central Virginia working as an Executive Chef at a variety of restaurants and catering kitchens earning a reputation for her creative menus, recipes and unique food styling. While specializing in gourmet comfort food with fresh and colorful flare it becomes a powerful pairing with her desire for sharing her talents with community, friends and family. 

Today she owns and operates Purple Door Gourmet Kitchen where she focuses on boutique catering and events.
