Sourdough Bread Workshop

Michael Grantz and Arden Jones of Great Day Gardens bake a great variety of breads, all with the sourdough method. They bake with organic, local, ingredients and some of the grains they even grow themselves. You can read more about their baking operation and see pictures of their delicious breads here

Join us at Lynchburg Grows to learn from them about how to make and use sourdough starter and how sourdough breads differ from traditional yeast breads. Michael will do a baking demonstration, have breads for you to sample and loaves for you to buy and take home with you. You'll get to take some sourdough starter home with you so you can make your own sourdough bread or waffles or muffins or pancakes...

All this talk of baking at dinner time is going to make us hungry, so, included as part of the workshop, Chef Stephanie Fees will be making us some delicious vegetarian soup highlighting local ingredients. We'll snack on that (or call it dinner) along with some sourdough bread, of course.

The Sourdough Bread Workshop is Full! If you would like to be put on the waiting list, please use the button below. We'll notify you right away if a spot becomes available.
