Our Annual Plant Sale is on April 27!

Come see us at 1339 Englewood Street for our second annual Plant Sale & Open House on April 27th from 9:00am to 1:00pm!

We’ll have vegetable and flower starts, seeds, established native plants & perennials, and house plants for sale. All proceeds go directly to our work, supporting our mission of providing meaningful work for people with disabilities and fresh food to the community!

Everyone is welcome, whether you’re looking to add houseplants to your home, continuing to grow your own garden, or are curious about how to develop your green thumb. Our friends from Tacos al Pastor will be there again serving up delicious food while you shop.

If you're a SNAP customer, you’ll receive 50% off food-growing plants and seeds thanks to theVirginia Fresh Match initiative. Not sure if you qualify for SNAP? VisitCommon Help for assistance navigating the application process.

The Veggie Box: Community Supported Agriculture

More than 200 families share in the harvest all season by becoming members of our community supported agriculture program. Whether you're a member or not, anyone can visit the farm during store hours to buy the produce we're growing. Read more here.

Produce Prescription Program

Doctors prescribe our FreshRx program to patients with diet-related illnesses. We fill those prescriptions with nutrition education classes and fresh veggies for those patients to take home and eat. Read more about the program here.

Food Donations

We donate produce every week to the Salvation Army and other local organizations working to feed the hungry. We also donate CSA shares to Miriam’s House, The Miller Home for Girls, and free produce for patients to pick-up at the Community Access Network clinic, just to name a few of our donation partners. Thanks to our partnership with volunteers from St. John's Episcopal Church, who use some of our greenhouse space to grow food, we donated more than 18,000 servings of produce in 2020.

Restaurants

You can also find our food in delicious dishes at area eateries that support a farm-to-table philosophy. It doesn't get much more fresh and local than produce grown in the heart of the city!
