In an effort to support an ecologically sound community food system, Lynchburg Grows is offering an organic/low spray, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) food club. Lynchburg Grows' CSA program is proud to offer fresh produce to our subscribers in whole and half shares. Visit the Lynchburg Grows listing at the LocalHarvest website here. To begin, one must pre-pay for the CSA in one month increments. The cost for one week of produce will be $15 for a half share (1 -2 people) and $30 for a whole share (3 -4 + people). The CSA shares will be distributed on Tuesdays between 2:30 – 6 pm at Lynchburg Grows, 1339 Englewood St., south of Lynchburg City Stadium. In these early years, we will have to supplement our Lynchburg Grows produce with purchased wholesale organic produce. This will allow us to offer additional fruits and cooking vegetables for each share to approximate what a family would eat weekly. We will be partnering with a number of local farms to bring you locally grown organic/low spray produce. We will be seeking input from CSA members to help our CSA farmers plan their spring, summer and autumn crops. We will also offer pre-ordered "add-ons" of hormone and antibiotic free, pasture raised eggs, beef and pork. Please visit Lynchburg Grows to pick up a CSA sign-up form and make a commitment to making 2007 a healthier and greener year for you and your family! Check it out ! - CSA ~ What's in the Bag flyer for the week of July 13th, 2007. For more information, email CSA@lynchburggrows.org Sign-up form HERE.
