Just got off the phone with Woody. He’s relaxing after a long weekend running around LG as the resident “compost commander” (his business cards really say that). I hope the rest of the LG folks are relaxing too, after having hosted 50 people for Will Allen’s Growing Power workshops this weekend that covered aquaponics construction, compost, worm farming and brownfields and community organizing (and some other stuff I must have missed.) Anyway, everyone ate well with Chef Shawn catering four meals that were sourced with as many local and regional foods as she could lay claim to. That included local beef and homemade cheese. Saturday’s breakfast also included four casseroles cobbled together by Keith Hatch and family from the eggs in their coop (known as The Eggery.) Anyway, check out News & Advance story by assistant city desk editor David Royer who attended the workshop both days. Come Monday (tomorrow ), students from William & Mary arrive to volunteer away their Spring Break. Note to students: The greenhouses are warm, but it ain’t Florida.  – Aaron Lee
